Grab-A-Bag is mounted under the checkout
board and contains a cartridge of plastic
bags.
The outlet is located at the tip of
the board close to the customer. Like
tissue paper, the next plastic bag bursts
out when the customer grabbed the current
bag. Grab-A-Bag is equipped with an
electronic card that controls the bags
feed rate for maximal saving.
Integration with the cashier is also
possible.
This is useful for example to relate
the number of bags each consumer gets
to his or her purchase volume.
In places where bags are charged for
this can help to automatically add the
bags charges to the bill. Grab-A-Bag
technology is very simple, similar to
that of a desktop printer.
A mechanism of rubber strips and pulleys
pulls the bags out of the machine. This
system is highly reliable and hardly
needs any maintenance. The cartridge
can be adjusted to almost any imaginable
bag size and shape. Electricity consumption
is negligible.
The bags' remains are collected in the
machine to keep the checkout area clean
and neat.
